One tiny peninsula holds 2.5% of Earth's biodiversity. Backing the creators regenerating its land, culture, and community.
The Osa Peninsula covers less than a thousandth of a percent of the planet's surface and holds 2.5 percent of its biodiversity. National Geographic called it the most biologically intense place on Earth. The people who live here already know what it needs. The projects exist: farmers and land stewards replanting forest, the Higuerones cooperative growing community-owned livelihoods, Festival Madre Monte gathering artists under the canopy, sea turtle guardians walking the beaches at night. What the peninsula lacks is not vision or effort; it is a platform that lets the world see all of this at once. Curated by Fundacion Osa, rooted in twelve years of weaving this community together, this fund backs the artistic, scientific, and technological innovators regenerating one of the rarest places alive. The forest is already growing. We fund the hands that tend it.
We welcome land stewards, artists, scientists, cooperatives, and community organizers of the Osa.
To qualify for this fund, projects must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Rooted in Osa: Based in or directly serving the Osa Peninsula bioregion of Costa Rica.
- Regenerative at Heart: The work restores land, water, wildlife, culture, or community, leaving the peninsula more alive than it found it.
- Innovative Craft: Artistic, scientific, or technological initiatives that bring something new to the region.
- Real Work, Not Vaporware: An active project with people behind it and progress to show, not just an idea.
- Community-Woven: Connected to, and accountable to, the people of the peninsula.
