AI Film 3 Fund for Frontier Storytellers

Backing AI-native storytellers with funding, a festival premiere, and a real path to the big screen.

Every AI filmmaker eventually hits the same wall: the work is finished, and there's nowhere for it to play. This fund exists to tear that wall down. Every project curated here plugs into a working ecosystem: AI Film 3, the in-real-life festival now in its third year championing AI filmmakers, musicians, and artists in public, and LUMINA Cinema, a distribution pathway that puts AI-made films on real cinema screens and pays the creators behind them. The fund is led by PJ Way, founder of Prometheus Productions, who created AI Film 3 after watching AI give his daughter the power to tell stories beyond the limits of her physical ability. That origin still steers everything here: other funds offer money, this one offers a career on-ramp.

Eligibility

This fund is for the solo auteurs, two-person studios, and small collectives using generative and agentic tools as their primary medium, the creators that traditional grants, festivals, and studio financing don't have a category for. You don't need a film school degree, a studio deal, or an institutional affiliation. You need an original story and the will to build it, from anywhere in the world.
To qualify for this fund:
- Your project is an original story told through film, music, fashion, game development, or art, with AI as a core part of how it's made
- You're transparent about your process: disclose the tools you used and how AI shaped the work
- Your project is complete, in active production, or tied to a concrete milestone this funding unlocks
- You share a public-facing artifact (concept art, a clip, a scene) the community can rally behind
- The work is your own, cleared of third-party rights conflicts, and suitable for a general audience
Selected creators get more than funding. Standout projects earn a public premiere at AI Film 3, with the press and audience that come with it, and consideration for distribution through LUMINA Cinema, where AI-made films screen in real theaters and creators get paid. And creators empowered by AI to work beyond limited resources or physical ability are especially welcome here. That's who this fund was built for.
