Cine y Sonido Fund for Latin Storytellers

For Latin American filmmakers and sound artists making bold, political, community-rooted work that traditional markets overlook.

Some of the most vital cinema and sound art being made today comes from Latin America, and much of it never reaches traditional markets. Cine y Sonido backs Latin American directors, screenwriters, and sound artists developing innovative work with a point of view: films that take formal and political risks, and sound works, experimental music, and scores that open spaces for people to connect, share ideas, and build together. The fund treats image and sound as two halves of one craft. It exists to give visibility and opportunity to emerging Latin American creators overlooked by conventional channels, with particular attention to projects that include women and gender-diverse communities.
