The Internet is a techno-spiritual malaise that reflects boundaries between the real and virtual.

I am making a ceramics piece about the intersectionality of religion, patriarchy, sexuality, and addiction to the internet using the symbolism of Jesus on the cross, wearing VR goggles, the metaverse swirling around him.
The interplay of these cultural signifiers creates a dialectic tension between transcendental beliefs and hegemonic social norms, which manifests in the virtual realm as a simulacrum of the real.
I have started sketching the piece, figuring out how to translate to the clay, what the process will be.
My mother was an artist deeply involved in the expression of feminism, sexuality and patriarchy through her work. I grew up in that realm. My mediums have been varied, but ceramics is my choice for this piece.

Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
