I'm making a documentary that seeks to uncover the glaring socio-political impacts the construction of I-83 has had on Baltimore City's marginalized communities and ecosystems since the mid-twentieth century.
This doc will premiere at as many local film festivals and public, community-based events as possible in order to raise local awareness about the social and ecological impacts I-83 has on the Jones Falls River and on Baltimore City residents.
This project received a total of $1,500 in initial funding through Artizen as well as a Baltimore-based producer in January 2023. With these funds, I was able to assemble a highly skilled on-set team and move the doc into its production phase.
I've always seen transportation as one facet of any city's identity, even before I learned in my anthropological studies about prejudices that have been baked into traditions of infrastructure and public design throughout modern history.

Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
