About

I am making a feature length documentary about current Harlem and Harlem long ago to address the history of cultural erasure from developers, politicians, and the media to a once booming community built by Black culture.

Impact

Addressing the housing inequities in Harlem speaks volume to communities all over the world who are facing the same problems. And by hearing the stories of those within the community who are fighting back will inspire others to do the same.

Progress

I have been meeting with historians, activists, and locals to conduct interviews. No money has been raised, I am working on this alone. But funding will help secure a small crew and assist with research.

Team

I am a first generation American, an Afro-Latino with a generation of family members that dealt with displacement. I have also witnessed gentrification firsthand in my own community since my time in NYC.

Funding

No displayed figures preserved for this project.

Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
