catalog and record the history of Nat Turner’s rebellion, ritually cleansing the sites of their energy thru black joy.
film-storytellingI make hair headdresses, artifacts of my rituals. I perform rituals that cleanse places of black trauma. Both a performer and a director - I capture sites to preserve + present them. Interviews and other footage help tell the story.
My film is a direct catalog of the only living descendent of the white families murdered during the rebellion. All the history/documents are there but not archived or preserved. Ppl need to know the untold details of what happened.
Acquired equipment thru a small grant- headed down to film a small preliminary section during spring break 4/1-4/7/23. Have refined my filmmaking thru other films I’ve made.
I’m a storyteller by nature. I have a degree in Bible, studio art and a masters in studio art from a top ten art college. I’ve made 6 films which have been shown around the world. I’m a mid-career fine artist. I’m fascinated with this story.

Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
