About

I'm making an educational program including a SAG film, a documentary on the preservation of Lakota culture, and a virtual reality experience that allows people to step inside the story and visit the Pine Ridge Reservation from a VR headset.

Impact

The world is at risk of losing the connection to precious Indigenous wisdom as tribal elders leave us. This project is positioned to help build a digital library of such content before it is too late.

Progress

The first half of the narrative film was shot in Sept. 2022. We plan to shoot the rest of the footage in May of 2023. We shot the first 2 interviews for the documentary and the initial 360 footage. We have raised about 1/3 of what is needed.

Team

I have a long-standing relationship with Dave Swallow (Lakota Medicine Man), whom I met as a child. He held sweat lodges in Colorado, and I would play with the other children while the adults prayed. Dave requested my help on the project.

Funding

No displayed figures preserved for this project.

Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
