Body of Mine VR

About

I'm making a VR exploration of gender dysphoria, trans identity, and our relationships with our bodies. The experience immerses you into the body of another gender, where you can interact with your skin to discover stories of transgender individuals.

Impact

In an era of anti-trans legislation, our experience will provide a safe space for trans youth and gender-queer people to see themselves as a gender they identify with, as well as provide a space for cis audiences to learn more about trans identity.

Progress

We had our World Premiere at SXSW, where we won the Special Jury Award. Our rock-star team of developers has gotten invitations to bring the piece all over the world. We are looking for support to build a mobile-friendly version to expand our reach.

Team

I lost my relationship to my parents when I was outed as queer, as well as lost their support at a young age. I understand what it means to not have a safe space. So, I want to build one - not one just for me, but one to share.

Funding

No displayed figures preserved for this project.

Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
