An electrician who keeps the lights on in Nigeria is building a game about resilience born between blackouts and light.
africa
CURRENT is a game about a person who turns the lights back on when the power goes out. You walk through a dark Nigerian city, fixing lights, meeting neighbors, and helping people feel safe again in the dark.
Power scarcity touches billions of people, yet games rarely tell that story with dignity. CURRENT gives global players an honest, non stereotyped window into resilience in the Global South, and opens doors for Nigerian talent in games.
The concept is fully formed, the story outline is written, and the visual direction is set around hand painted light and shadow. I am now developing the vertical slice, the first playable chapter, to bring the world to life.
I am an ELV technician in Nigeria who restores power for a living. I have wired the rooms, met the families, and felt the relief when the lights return. This story is not researched, it is lived, and that is what I bring to the screen.
No displayed figures preserved for this project.
Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
