DigiNewMex is an AR experience for Indigenous storytelling where you’ll be able to move 3D models around with your finger while hearing the sound of 7 Indigenous languages looped over an 8 bit melody…
The DigiNewMex app will be included on devices for the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum traveling mobile media truck, which will visit Indigenous schools for kids, then the app will be available to the broader community as an act of self-determination.
I accumulated funds from The Fulcrum Fund (The Andy Warhol Foundation). I’ve also acquired a sound engineer and Indigenous language speakers for Zuni, Keres, Navajo, Towa, Apache, Nahuatl, Comanche and Spanish for the sound that's incorporated.
At the age of 3, I witnessed my grandparents, who were unilingual Navajo language speakers, have to watch TV programming that was only offered in English. It then became my lifelong goal to create community-based media. I was born to do this.
No displayed figures preserved for this project.
Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
