A shoebox-sized music box you drop off in a classroom that turns any kid into a self-taught musician.
Puts a real instrument and a genuine first music lesson into classrooms that have never had either, turns five spare minutes into practice instead of noise, and gives kids proof— a song they can actually play — that music is something they get to do.
Hand-built 20 boxes and placed them in 5 classrooms with no music teacher, checking in weekly for 8 weeks — 85% of kids could play a full 8-note song from memory by week 6, versus under 15% in classrooms given only a songbook and a shared recorder.
Grew up in a house with no instruments and no money for lessons, taught myself piano by ear on a secondhand keyboard, so I want every kid to get that first "I can actually play something" moment without needing a family member who already plays.
No displayed figures preserved for this project.
Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
