About
I want to develop a process that uses polyurethane casting resins, with suitable fillers etc., 3d printing, all the release lubricants, processing procedures to eliminate layer lines, bubbles etc., etc. to make good large format parts at low cost.
Impact
There are many valuable parts in this category: too slow to print many copies, and yet injection molding tooling is (far) too expensive. Because fibers can be used, higher strength than printed parts is also possible.
Progress
I have in the past done extensive research on good quality resins, the processes, fillers, and so on. I have extensive experience with 3D (FDM) printing, including large format printing, including with TPU. I have one good application to test with.
Team
I have extensive FDM printing experience, as well as the skills and knowledge as an engineer to pull this off. I have a workspace as well as a good application for this process, without which it would require far more funding to do.
