About

A summer camp for fantasy art-making with recycled materials & gardening/plant wisdom thru a lense that explores the animacy and interdependence of plants and people. Like Minecraft, but in real life, in East Los Angeles.

Impact

We’re showing kids the fantastical worlds we can create with our hands alone, and teaching them the living ecologies we inhabit thru the lens of native american ecological practices and modern techniques of urban gardening.

Progress

We have been working with the rediscover center in LA putting on large arts education events for kids—we have the space locked in, plus all the plans to build planters, acquire materials, plants, and provide for a diverse range of Angelino families.

Team

I have over a decade of fabrication/building/youth event experience; my co-founder is a brilliant landscaper and land project manager who has studied local ecologies her whole life, as well as a genius for dealing with kids.

The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
