Resonant Roots

About

A small wristband that listens to your heartbeat and turns it into gentle music, just for you. When you're stressed, the music slows your heart down like a lullaby. It's like having a tiny musician living on your wrist who only wants to help you feel

Impact

Resonant Roots gives people a private, judgment-free tool for emotional regulation, especially those who can't access therapy or find talk-based treatment difficult (children, neurodivergent individuals, trauma survivors).

Progress

Built a working prototype using an open-source heart-rate sensor and a generative audio engine (Pure Data). Tested with 12 volunteers; 9 reported feeling calmer within 3 minutes of listening to their generated soundscape.

Team

I've spent 6 years producing music and 3 years volunteering in crisis support lines. I've seen firsthand how hard it is for people to articulate what they feel — but everyone can feel music. This project merges both worlds I know best.

Funding

No displayed figures preserved for this project.

Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
