About
When someone is lost or injured, search teams lose precious time planning where to look. SARops uses AI, terrain, and lost-person behavior to generate the highest-probability search assignments in seconds.
Impact
Saving human lives. U.S. rescue teams run some 50,000 search missions a year, and the average search takes 10 hours, hours a hypothermic or injured person may not have. SARops gets ground teams and drones into the field faster.
Progress
Working prototype reviewed by Colorado SAR professionals. AI segment generation from terrain and lost-person statistics, exportable tasking to SARtopo. Next: tune the algorithms and validate them across the most common lost-person areas in Colorado.
Team
I've been in volunteer search and rescue since 2003. Hundreds of missions and countless trainings. I'm also a creator with a background in software and AI. I've lived the chaos of search planning. SARops is the tool I wished I'd had.
