An Israeli-Palestinian puppet theater where the puppets are soft robots operated from remote locations.

I am collaborating with the Tech2Peace organization as part of my doctoral research at Aalto University. We will teach 30 Israelis and Palestinians to create robotic puppets, design a theater, and perform remotely in public spaces.
It is a new form of contact between groups in conflict. Using robotic puppetry, we can bypass physical borders and play with varying identities.
I have raised money from the Kone Foundation, Aalto University, and the New Israel Fund-Deutchland. I published conceptual papers, created a prototype puppet and assembled a team in Israel. The first workshop with Tech2Peace happens on June 1st-3rd.
I have a diverse background in technology, science, art, and philosophy. For the past 10 years, I have been creating telepresence art - digital and robotic. I now realized that the power of telepresence and avatars has a lot in common with puppetry.
No displayed figures preserved for this project.
Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
