An archive of sounds that may disappear from our planet
Sound
I am collecting sounds that may disappear: animals, machines, crafts, languages, landscapes, and traditions. Each recording becomes part of a growing sound artwork.
Extinction is not only visual. Species, traditions, jobs, places, and languages disappear with unique sounds. The project preserves part of the world we normally forget to record.
The first collection can focus on one city or ecosystem. Twenty endangered or disappearing sounds will form the first chapter and an interactive prototype.
I can build the digital archive and interactive experience while collaborating with communities, researchers, artists, and field recordists for the source material.
No displayed figures preserved for this project.
Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
