The Rehearsal

About

A safe space for artists to flourish and shine. It's sad, but most venues in LA actually charge performers to share their art. We're offering something different, where vulnerability and real human connections are the goal.

Impact

When we make connection and artistic expression the top priority (not alcohol or ticket sales) we unlock a more meaningful experience for both artists and audience. We increase our community's capacity to create and share their stories through art.

Progress

4 seasons with more than 50 shows; recruited 14+ volunteers who donate their time every week; partnered Mercado La Paloma (venue); and secured a partnership with Liquid Death.

Team

We have four co-founders, each with our own strengths: Yesi Ortiz - TV & Radio Personality Shani Bernard - Artist & Show Production Expertise David Tam - Producer & Talent Buyer Levi Downey - Producer & Live Sound Expertise

Funding

No displayed figures preserved for this project.

Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
