For emerging or experienced Indigenous artists/creators in XR technology.

The Indigenous XR Fund supports visionary Indigenous artists, storytellers, and technologists who harness (or would like to harness) AR and VR to reclaim culture, revitalize language, and craft immersive experiences rooted in ancestral knowledge. We believe Native Futurists are not only preserving heritage—they are reimagining tomorrow.

Eligibility

This Fund is dedicated to Indigenous creators working with (or want to work with) immersive technology.
To qualify for this fund, projects must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Be led by individuals who identify as Indigenous/Native American/American Indian.
- Have the desire to use XR (Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality) in a meaningful way.
- Center Indigenous language, culture, or community in their creative goals.
- Prioritize cultural respect, narrative sovereignty, and non-extractive storytelling.
- Demonstrate feasibility with a clear vision, team, or past work.
In the "How does your project qualify?" question on the application, please mention your federally recognized or non-federally recognized tribal affiliation.
HOW IT WORKS:
Sign up to the Artizen portal.
Submit a project.
Go out and raise funds for your project.
Get up to 3 times match funding for your project.
Example: You raise $1,000 for your project and you get matched $2,000. You then walk away with $3,000 raised for your fund.
