A digital series teaching creators to tell great stories, collaborate, and lead in the age of AI.
The TV writers room has become one of the best creative operating systems of all time. It was the core creative unit behind the Golden Age of Television—from The Sopranos to Game of Thrones. It taught people how to pitch ideas, take notes, navigate disagreement, develop taste, build creative chemistry, and eventually lead a team. Now the creative economy is changing. Old career paths are disappearing, new ones are emerging, and millions of storytellers suddenly have access to tools that once required entire studios. AI will create the biggest explosion of independent storytelling in history. The Writers Room Fund exists to train, connect, and fund the next generation of storytellers for an economy expanding beyond Hollywood. That's why our first act is a free digital series: How to Tell Stories in the Age of AI. We'll take the lessons great writers rooms have always taught—structure, taste, collaboration, creative chemistry, and story leadership—and make them available to everyone, not just the lucky few who get invited into the room. But we don't just want to talk about The Future of Story. We want to help build it. As The Writers Room Fund grows, we will also invest directly in a curated portfolio of original projects and host live workshops where writers and creators can develop their craft, find collaborators, and learn how to lead small creative teams. The digital series lets us reach thousands. The projects let us back promising storytellers. The workshops get people in rooms making things together. Over time, the strongest ideas from all three can grow into deeper programs, fellowships, and eventually a new kind of creative institution built for the next generation of storytellers. The old creative map is disappearing. We’re here to discover the next one. And we believe storytellers should be the ones who lead the way.

We welcome screenwriters, novelists, short story writers, and short-form creators drawn to new mediums. You don't need Hollywood credits, and you don't need to be a technologist. You need craft, a distinct voice, and real ambition for where storytelling is headed.
To qualify for this fund:
- You must have prior experience writing screenplays, short stories, novels, or short-form content
- Your project should be made for the screen with AI in the pipeline. "AI-generated" is a spectrum, and the whole spectrum qualifies: fully AI-generated worlds, hybrid work blending performance capture of real actors with generated imagery, or traditional production enhanced and enabled by AI. What matters is that the writing leads
- Using AI in your writing process is welcome, but it's not the point and not required. Great writing is the point
Selected writers won't just get funding. Connor develops his writers the way great rooms always have: through collaboration, feedback, and story leadership, with an eye toward building the talent bench for this medium's first golden age.
