An immersive VR poem and love letter to a father, with a touchable ceramic scotch bottle interface.

About
I'm crafting an immersive story about an alcoholic father and the son that loves him. The controller is a large abstracted sculptural Scotch bottle. Hold the neck of the bottle and the dark, sharp world brightens. Touch inside, and take a tour.
Impact
There are far too few creative works that help men express their emotional challenges and vulnerabilities. The deeply cool and soulful poem by Emmy nominated writer Jon Goode does this. The VR work and boundary breaking interface is just a bonus.
Progress
A prototype has been funded by the Wyoming County Arts Council & New York State Council for the Arts. The prototype has been shared at the Serious Play Conference. The core mechanics work & the design issues understood. Refinement alone is needed.
Team
I've been using poetry as a tool to explore VR design for 30+ years. I have stacks of professional work and awards. This project is especially meaningful as my father died when I was young. Jon's poem helped me reconcile my feelings.

Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
