Supporting early-stage African creative entrepreneurs building culture, community, and the future of Africa's creative ecosystem.
Africa is home to one of the world's most vibrant creative communities, yet too many bold ideas never move beyond inspiration because their creators lack access to funding, networks, and institutional support. The AfroForward Fund exists to change that. We support creative entrepreneurs, artists, and community builders developing projects that strengthen Africa's cultural infrastructure, expand opportunities for others, and reimagine African stories through art, technology, education, design, and innovation. Together, we're investing in the next generation of creators shaping the continent's creative future.

We welcome projects from creators across Africa working at the intersection of creativity, culture, technology, and community. Whether you're launching a publication, organizing a festival, preserving cultural heritage, building creative tools, or developing artistic work with meaningful social impact, we're looking for projects that strengthen Africa's creative ecosystem and help others create alongside you.
To qualify for this fund, projects must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- African-led: The project must be led by creators or teams based in Africa or creating meaningful impact within African communities.
- Creative Entrepreneurship: Projects should demonstrate entrepreneurship through the creation of sustainable creative initiatives, organizations, products, platforms, events, publications, or artistic ventures.
- Community Impact: The project should strengthen creative communities by expanding access to opportunities, education, collaboration, mentorship, or cultural participation.
- Cultural Innovation: We welcome projects that preserve, celebrate, reinterpret, or imagine African culture through contemporary art, design, technology, storytelling, music, film, fashion, publishing, or other creative mediums.
- Originality: Projects should present a distinctive vision, creative approach, or innovative solution rather than replicating existing work.
- Feasibility: Applicants should demonstrate a realistic plan for executing the project and creating measurable impact within their community.
- Positive Ecosystem Growth: Preference will be given to projects that create lasting value by supporting other creators, generating new opportunities, preserving cultural knowledge, or contributing to the long-term growth of Africa's creative ecosystem.
