About
First issue of a quarterly print experimental editorial which blends retro Afro-futurism with anti-machine punk. It centers a world worshiping machines but the art rebels to honor the sun instead in chaotic visuals in the zine.
Impact
This edition is a visual reminder to reframe the future by honoring the planet itself and human spirit first. It uses the art to remind the audience that even as we build machines, our creativity, culture and soul must stay at the center.
Progress
10 of 80 pages are done. Our core team is set: chief editor, creative director, designer, art director, two writers, and a project handler guiding 25 community artists. A photo shoot is being prepped and three art pieces are in production.
Team
We birthed Altsun zine. We hold the vision of the retro Afro-futuristic world we see in this edition and as the collective behind it, we're invested, souls and hands, beyond what is needed to actualize Altsun Zine as a creative print media favorite.
