Artist-Run Spaces Fund for Cooperative Culture

Supporting artist-run spaces and the open-source infrastructure that connects them into a global network.

Independent art spaces are where culture actually gets made: collectively, locally, and usually without funding. This fund supports artist-run initiatives, the performers, painters, musicians, and organizers who animate them, and the open-source software (CoCoSo) being built to help them organize, become visible, and find one another. It runs on a sister-solidarity model: spaces with funding are matched with spaces without, so the network grows by mutual aid rather than competition. Eligibility

To qualify for this fund, projects must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Initiatives must have at least three artists on board: this fund supports collective effort, not solo practice.
- A physical space must be part of the initiative's practice. It does not need to be full-time and can be borrowed or rented.
- Open to independent art spaces, performance artists, dancers, musicians, painters, organizers, and culture creators of all kinds.
- Preference for initiatives that contribute to the growing network of independent local art spaces and its shared open-source cooperation tools.
