Cultivate Fund for Tea Houses and Trade Routes

Funding tea houses as community hubs and the caravans of storytellers and merchants who connect them.

In traditional Chinese medicine, tea is the first medicine: it calms, focuses, detoxifies and opens the door to deeper healing. Most cultures in the world know tea and wherever it appeared, it became a ritual for humans to connect, the flavour of home. Storytelling used to be deeply connected with tea, globally. The Cultivate Fund supports two kinds of projects that carry that spirit into community life: local tea houses as living hubs, creative spaces, galleries, wellness rooms, and workshops, especially in restored historical buildings and weaving local history into their foundations, and the traveling caravans of storytellers, weavers, merchants, and artists who connect these spaces into a network of trust, culture, and regenerative trade.

Eligibility

To qualify for this fund, projects must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Two kinds of projects are the main focus: local tea houses growing as community hubs, and traveling caravans that connect them. Community weavers who understand this principle are also very welcome.
- Tea house projects should serve as creative spaces, galleries, wellness rooms, or shared workshops, preferably restoring historical buildings and weaving local history as well as global storytelling into the foundation of the community.
- Caravan projects bring storytellers, merchants, and artists along the routes between these spaces, seeding the network and enabling regenerative trade.
- Projects that help the wider network grow and stabilize, economically and culturally, also qualify.
- Open to locally rooted and traveling superconnectors weaving communities of trust across cultures.
