About
We trace toxic metals from rocks and mining sites into playground soil, dust and water, then into children. We will map exposure, test samples, and turn the science into simple actions that prevent poisoning before a child reaches a clinic.
Impact
Our project will show communities where children are exposed and why. By mapping risky playgrounds, testing soil and water, and linking geology to health, we can guide safer practices and prevent exposure before it becomes disease.
Progress
We have developed the From Mine to Clinic concept, defined the geomedical research pathway, identified target mining communities, and planned field, laboratory, clinic and community activities. We have also developed the project storyboard and AAC.
Team
I am a Medical Geologist focused on how geology and environmental exposure affect health. I connect rocks, mining, soil, water and human exposure, bringing scientific knowledge and local understanding to protect children in mining communities.
