About

We are creating an annual high-tech, off-grid pop-up village in the California desert. We bring people from all over to live together for 3 months and co-create art, culture, and education.

Impact

We experiment with new ways of living and living together to create a culture of human connection and creativity. We create open source hardware, software, and education that we share with the world during Mars and throughout the year.

Progress

We have just started the 7th year of Mars College in early January. There are nearly 100 people in full-time attendance this year, and many more from the local community of Bombay Beach community participating in some way as well.

Team

I (jmill) have attended Mars College 5 times now, and I help to organize the event in the off-season. Mars College is volunteer-run, and all money raised is distributed via Gardens to participants' infrastructural and communal projects.

Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
