Supporting creators who build enduring systems of knowledge and decision-making that help humanity navigate long-term risk.
The Orion Fund for Living Intelligence supports creators who build work designed to help humanity think more clearly across time. We seek projects grounded in living intelligence: systems that deepen how humans observe the world, make decisions, and steward complex realities. This includes ontological design, decision systems, ecological sensing, and regenerative knowledge infrastructure that address long-term human risk. The fund celebrates slow knowledge—work created for durability and clarity rather than speed or visibility—and supports creators willing to take responsibility for ideas meant to endure.
This fund supports projects that confront failures in human decision-making and long-term systemic risk through thoughtful, durable work. We are interested in creators building knowledge frameworks, sensing systems, research, or tools that help people better understand complex systems over time. The strongest projects generate regenerative knowledge—insight that compounds in value and remains useful beyond its immediate context.
To qualify for this fund, projects must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Living Intelligence: The project must improve how humans observe, understand, or respond to complex systems over time.
- Long-Term Human Risk: The work must address a specific failure mode in human decision-making or a meaningful long-term systemic risk.
- Ontological Design or Decision Systems: Projects should develop frameworks, models, tools, or systems that help people interpret reality and make wiser decisions.
- Regenerative Knowledge: The project should produce knowledge that compounds in value over time and contributes to long-term understanding.
- Slow Knowledge: The work should be designed for durability and reflection rather than rapid production or short-term attention.
- Enduring Value: The project must retain value outside its immediate context and remain meaningful beyond a single platform, trend, or cycle.
- Intellectual Custodianship: The project must have a clearly identified lead creator who assumes intellectual responsibility for the work.
- Creator Commitment: We especially welcome creators who take meaningful intellectual or creative risk in bringing their work into the world.
- Not Engagement-Optimized: Projects primarily designed for engagement, scale, virality, or visibility are not eligible.
