Edge City Fund for Experimental Living

Supporting breakthrough projects in tech, science, art & culture emerging from Edge City's global popup villages.

Edge City is a society incubator — we gather curious, high-agency builders, researchers, scientists, and artists in month-long popup villages around the world. From Northern California to Patagonia to Thailand, our communities are living labs where new technologies, governance models, and ways of life get stress-tested in real time. This fund backs the projects that emerge from that environment. We're looking to resource the experiments, tools, research, and creative work that carry Edge City's energy forward - things that wouldn't exist without the collisions and collaborations that happen when brilliant people live and build together. If you've been part of an Edge City gathering, or if your work is aligned with our community's mission of advancing human flourishing, this fund is for you.

Eligibility

Eligibility
This fund is for projects where the funding will directly support participation in — or utilization of — an Edge City popup village. We want to invest in the village experience itself: enabling more ambitious experiments and bringing more exceptional people into our communities.
Your project is eligible if the funding will go toward:
- Fellowships for brilliant people — sponsoring exceptional researchers, builders, or artists who need financial support to participate in an Edge City and do meaningful work there; think scholarships for high-potential individuals who would otherwise be priced out
- Running an experiment — prototyping a technology, product, or social experiment using the village as a living lab
- Hosting a residency — bringing a cohort of researchers, builders, or artists into an Edge City to work on a shared focus area
- Research conducted at a village — fieldwork, papers, or studies that use the Edge City environment and community as a resource
- Grant programs — funding initiatives that route resources to participants doing impactful work at Edge City gatherings
- Exploring the village format itself — real estate projects, permanent hub development, or organizations interested in hosting or co-creating an Edge City
