For those who give back: funding creators whose track record of community impact reaches beyond their art
Some artists nourish their communities twice. Once through the work itself, and again through everything around it: free music lessons for young people, workshops that open doors, community tun production companies, infrastructure that promises a more just future for the next generation. Kindhearted Artists Impact Fund backs artists with a demonstrated record of exactly that kind of impact: creators who change how people see things or how people do things, and who spend their own time and resources lifting up others. Think of filmmakers who runs visual storytelling workshops while producing their friends' films, DJs who develop open source platforms, or established musicians in London and Ramallah who build community hubs and teach young people to play for free because they believe in opening doors. Every applicant submits an impact strategy, and the fund gives strong preference to practices connected to peacemaking, justice, rematriation, and anti-patriarchal and anti-colonial approaches. The goal is simple: put resources behind the artists who have already proven they multiply whatever they are given.
This fund is for artists whose generosity has a track record.
To qualify for this fund, projects must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Proven community impact: Applicants must show a track record of community work with tangible results, not intentions.
- Impact strategy required: Every application must include a written impact strategy for how the project will serve people beyond the artist.
- Beyond the artwork: Applicants must demonstrate sustained commitment to helping others outside their own artistic output, such as teaching, mentorship, or community infrastructure.
- Values encouraged: Practices connected to peacemaking, justice, rematriation, and anti-patriarchal and anti-colonial approaches are highly encouraged.
