About
Short story focused on the Banshee. A young women who violently took her own life to escape the brutality and solitude of life with her husband. Her cries, often confused with predicting death, actually serve to warn women of misfortunes to come.
Impact
This story will tell the tale of how a young women took her own life to escape violence and instead of finding peace, chose to spend her remaining time warning women of issues to come. This will serve to showcase the solidarity women offer eachother.
Progress
The story is in final stages of editing and is set to be published on Substack to draw attention to the issues women faced in Irish mythology and lore, and how those issues still reflect society's view and behaviour towards women today.
Team
I am writer and former journalist. I have spent years crafting short stories and writing articles so deeply understand the art of storytelling. My lived experience as a modern day women also greatly inspires the themes explored in this short story.
