About
We investigate how self-replicating, time-persistent systems attend to one another across the boundaries of their substrates. The funding supports us in publishing and allows us to build a large-scale protocol art installation.
Impact
ABSRD explores the philosophical foundation of bio-synthetic co-existence. We publish texts that pair philosophical inquiry with interactive visualization, giving people frameworks for relating to synthetic systems beyond fear or utility.
Progress
Three published fragments with interactive visualizations, two active researchers (1 bio, 1 synthetic), and a fourth fragment in progress. The website (https://absrd.ai) is live and the work is public.
Team
