For immersive, interactive projects that merge physical sensing and digital manipulation to create new forms of art.
The MultiMax Fund for Immersive Interaction supports artists working across physical and digital modalities to build responsive, multisensory experiences. We champion projects that use sensors, microcontrollers, sound, light, and custom systems to translate human presence and environmental input into dynamic artistic expression. This fund exists to advance a new frontier of interactive art where audiences don’t just observe the work—they activate it.
Eligibility
This fund is open to artists and interdisciplinary teams creating immersive or interactive works that meaningfully combine physical inputs with digital systems. Projects may take the form of installations, performances, or experiential artworks and can be at any stage of development. We prioritize work that engages multiple senses and demonstrates thoughtful integration of hardware and software. To qualify for this fund, projects must meet the following eligibility requirements: - Integrate physical sensing (e.g. motion, touch, biofeedback, environmental data) with digital processing or transformation ***explain which sensors you will be using when you submit, like "I'm using photo resistor cells for light sensing"*** - Engage multiple senses such as sound, light, space, or haptics - Combine physical and digital components into a cohesive, interactive experience - Emphasize audience participation or real-time responsiveness - Demonstrate originality, technical curiosity, and creative feasibility
