About

I am building a drone that can fly in the way a lunar lander would fly, in 1/6 gravity. This will be a platform to experiment with different guidance, navigation, and control sensors and algorithms. It was inspired by the Apollo program's LLRV.

Impact

This project is a proving-ground for a flight software and GNC research testbed, hopefully contributing to a lower risk of mission failure for lunar (and other planetary) landers, helping pave the way for more frequent and reliable landings.

Progress

I have the drone built, subsystems integrated. I've completed subsystems tests and integrated static tests, getting ready for tethered flight. Some changes/upgrades needed for free flight, and need to build new test stand for control system tuning.

Team

I have a background as a technician in the space industry (hands-on integration work), a software education, and a strong interest in systems engineering and operations. That multifaceted background gives this project a solid chance of success.

Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
