A concept store and workshop preserving Morocco’s leather heritage by teaching local communities traditional skills, empowering them to build sustainable businesses while blending craftsmanship with contemporary design.
Impact
By teaching traditional leather craftsmanship, the project empowers local people to create their own products, preserve cultural knowledge, and carry Morocco’s craft traditions into the future through contemporary design.
Progress
I have already established a working leather workshop, create handcrafted products, and offer hands-on workshop experiences. By renting our first workspace, we have built a strong foundation to grow into a larger community-focused concept store.
Team
Four years of studying leather craftsmanship and three years of training in luxury leatherwork shaped my skills. Growing up in an Amazigh family, I was surrounded by traditional handcrafts, where making by hand is part of everyday life.
