ArtCultural ImpactHealing Through ArtPainting arts-mediaculture-identityhealth-wellnessLiving with lupus, I paint the marks it leaves on my skin into jaguar spots — turning pain into art. Through photography and body painting, I'm making the invisible visible, transforming chronic illness into strength and healing.
This project brings awareness to everyone living with visible illness or scars, showing that our marks don't diminish our beauty. By turning shame into art, we inspire others with lupus — or any visible difference — to feel proud, seen, and whole.
I painted my body's marks for the first time and captured it in a professional photoshoot. That moment was a powerful catharsis — the first real step in turning my pain into art, and my shame into strength.
I've lived with lupus for over 10 years, hiding my marks — until now. As a graphic designer with a background in photography, drawing, and painting, I have both the courage and the skills to turn my own healing into this art project.

Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
