Hope Fund for Collective Futures

Backing creative works that help people imagine a better future and feel their own agency in creating it

Hope does not mean pretending that things are fine. It means looking honestly at what is broken, while refusing to surrender the possibility of repair. Hope is not only a feeling, but a practical and imaginative capacity: the ability to see meaningful goals, discover pathways toward them, and feel enough agency to begin moving. Despair is free; every headline delivers it. Hope takes craft. This fund backs the creators who practice that craft: creative works and participatory experiences whose explicit goal is to raise hope, helping people imagine a better future and feel empowered to create it.

Eligibility

This fund welcomes artists, storytellers, activists, filmmakers, musicians, designers, organizers, educators, technologists, ritual makers, and community builders whose projects help people move from despair toward possibility, connection, and action. The medium is open. The mission is not: your work should leave people more hopeful than it found them, with somewhere real to put that hope.
To qualify for this fund, your project must have the explicit goal of sparking hope in individuals or communities, and do one or more of the following:
- Turn grief, fear, despair, or isolation into reflection, agency, or action
- Show real examples of courage, care, repair, solidarity, or transformation
- Create a shared experience of connection, healing, or collective possibility
- Invite people to participate, not only observe
- Be grounded in a real community or public context
Work that is hopeful in spirit but aimed at another primary goal (raising awareness, documenting injustice, protest, peacebuilding, education, wellbeing) does not qualify. Sparking hope must be the project's central, stated purpose, not a side effect.
This fund is the first act of something larger: a social movement about hope. Creators curated here aren't just funded, they become part of a growing network of practices proving that another future is possible. If your work helps people feel it, and act on it, you belong here.
