About
The Solar Foundation utilizes new technology + innovative partnerships to fund and accelerate access to off-grid solar and productive appliances for underserved communities. Solar power is a tangible, real-world funding mechanism!
Impact
Our work impacts and transforms the communities we serve. Our solar projects build resiliency and sovereignty in parts of the world most affected by the climate crisis. Solar energy directly translates to freedom, health, income and opportunities.
Progress
We funded 13 solar projects and 500 solar lanterns for communities impacting over 4,000 people. We developed a model that provides solar lanterns for women’s savings groups, leading to new business ideas, new mindsets and learning new digital skills.
Team
We are two passionate individuals (Jon & Coleen) with backgrounds in solar energy, technology and community development. We believe that solar power equals people power, and we’ve seen the ripples of impact for women, their families and communities.
