Seeking open source engineers and researchers building the infrastructure that enables trust, coordination, and collective intelligence.
The Open Infrastructure Fund for Human Coordination supports builders creating the systems that make large-scale human collaboration possible. We believe the future of AI, digital identity, decentralized coordination, and public goods should be built on open infrastructure that belongs to everyone rather than controlled by a handful of institutions. This fund champions open source protocols, privacy-preserving technologies, and shared digital infrastructure that enable the next generation of human creativity, scientific discovery, and collective intelligence.

Eligibility
We welcome engineers, researchers, and open source builders developing the foundational infrastructure that others build upon. Whether you're working on decentralized AI, self-sovereign identity, privacy-preserving machine learning, public goods funding, validator networks, or new coordination mechanisms, we're looking for projects that strengthen the digital commons by expanding humanity's capacity to coordinate, collaborate, and create together. To qualify for this fund, projects should demonstrate one or more of the following characteristics: - Develop open source infrastructure with a public repository, transparent development history, or equivalent evidence of active public collaboration. - Build working software or actively maintained infrastructure rather than purely theoretical concepts or white papers. - Advance trustless, decentralized, privacy-preserving, or self-sovereign architectures that reduce reliance on centralized intermediaries. - Produce infrastructure intended to benefit the broader ecosystem rather than a single commercial organization. - Contribute to areas such as decentralized AI, self-sovereign identity, cryptography, validator networks, privacy-preserving technologies, public goods funding mechanisms, decentralized science, edge computing, or other foundational infrastructure. - Demonstrate technical rigor, thoughtful systems design, and a clear understanding of how the project enables future innovation. - Foster open collaboration, interoperability, and shared ownership wherever practical. - Projects pursuing sustainable, community-driven development models and long-term stewardship of digital public infrastructure are especially encouraged.
