About
TRANSFER Data Trust is a distributed coop with a focus on data sovereignty, digital equity, and long-term care of media art. The trust model shifts power to artists by decentralizing conservation, preservation, valuation and exchange.
Impact
TRANSFER Data Trust represents a new way for artists to think about the value of creative labor. The model allows artists to take control of their data and grow equity in their practice, to ignite a movement of data empowerment in the age of AI.
Progress
TRANSFER announced the Data Trust at our 10 year anniversary in 2023. Since then we have released a decentralized catalog prototype with support from Filecoin Foundation, and have been awarded an Arts Grant for Phase 2 of our development roadmap.
Team
Kelani Nichole (UX Strategist/Curator) and Regina Harsanyi (Conservator /Curator) have 10+ years of real-world experience in conservation and care. The founding artists are femmes from across the globe, backed by researchers at top universities.

Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
