Seeking hands-in-the-dirt creators practicing land stewardship, natural building, permaculture, and the traditional arts that keep wild places alive.
housands of people are quietly doing the most important work on earth, taking care of it, and almost none of the money built for creativity ever reaches them. Off-grid homesteaders raising earthen walls by hand, permaculture designers restoring watersheds and growing food forests, wildland stewards holding ground against gas lines and copper mines, sculptors and wood carvers and land artists whose materials come from the places they protect. They rarely speak the language of institutions, and institutions rarely see them. This fund does. It supports active, land-based projects: natural and sustainable building, wilderness preservation, habitat restoration, and analog arts rooted in nature, from land art to documentary film that deepens our appreciation of wild places. It also champions the culture around the work, the barn raisings and sliding-scale workshops where builders teach builders and knowledge passes between generations. This is a fund for people building a life of ecological care and creative self-reliance directly on the land.

his fund is for working land, not theoretical land.
To qualify for this fund, projects must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Hands-on practice: Creators must be actively working on the land or in physical material, not just planning or theorizing. Dirt under the fingernails.
- Land-based focus: Projects must center on at least one of: natural building, permaculture design, wilderness or habitat preservation, watershed restoration, food forestry, off-grid infrastructure, or land-based creative practice.
- Analog or nature-themed art: Artistic projects must be physical and handmade, or thematically rooted in nature, wilderness, and land stewardship. Land art, sculpture, wood carving, metalwork, and documentary film about protecting wild places all qualify.
- No purely digital or speculative work: Abstract technological projects and non-land-based digital work are not a fit for this fund.
- A clear plan: Preference goes to projects with documented progress, community-rooted or multigenerational knowledge, and a tangible plan for how funding will be used.
