About
Making cartoons for children in Africa, 2D animated stories about children playing in the greatest outdoor playground in the world; the Kenyan wilderness. Almasi and her cousins play imaginative games all over Kenya over the course of 4 seasons
Impact
Empowers and validates the children who watch it, the artists who make it, and the environment in which it grows. Children experience work made by young artists who grew up in their own environment. The artists earn a living in Kenya & own the IP.
Progress
Made 2 episodes from Season 1 which can be seen on Youtube. Made by students, lecturers and graduates of Multimedia University Kenya, in a studio onsite with no outside input. The script is original, the music is original, the artists are local.
Team
I grew up in Kenya & experienced the invalidation of not seeing kids like me on TV. Studied animation in London and went home to bring up children and train animators. I'm unreasonable, persistent and know how to complete an animation here in Kenya.
