This is a pool of money, 100% of which will be used to fund small prize awards for specific advances in the study of discrete systems, such as cellular automata or self-replacing hypergraphs. Particular desired advances will be announced.

Discrete science, pioneered by Stephen Wolfram, is a new domain in which many important advances remain to be made. Advances in discrete science may contribute to an understanding of physics, biology, mathematics, and more.
Progress
Researchers in discrete science have made substantial progress, sometimes motivated by prizes. For instance, Alex Smith proved that a 2-state, 3-symbol Turing machine is universal; this work was motivated by and rewarded by a prize.
Team
I am interested in advancing the cutting edge of discrete science. I am connected to Stephen Wolfram's research program, so can determine the cutting edge, but am outside that program, so will choose to focus on novel targets for prizes.
