About
We are putting a biological microbial effective organisms that is not invasive to cenote species environment. These organisms eat the excess of contaminants and restore original conditions .
Impact
Water protection and conservation in Yucatan is imperative, many Mayan communities have been affected by water contamination in cenotes because it’s their primary water source. Many kids have died of diarrhea and mothers diagnosed with cancer.
Progress
I have initiated a pilot study using water samples collected from 10 cenotes. The next step is to conduct laboratory testing to establish baseline water-quality data and evaluate the treatment’s effects. I have also established a relationship with EM
