About
Dr. Evelyn Reid is organizing a big community arts day and regular workshops where people sing, dance, tell stories, make art, and remember loved ones. Neighbors, families, elders, youth, and artists come together so Minnesota can heal through art.
Impact
Given the last 6 years of conflict, Healing Minnesota gives people a safe, creative place to heal/rebuild community. By turning trauma into music, dance, story, and visual art, it helps communities heal together and carry the model beyond Minnesota.
Progress
Dr. Reid has led similar community performance work in Atlanta, met with Minnesota artists, formed a diverse community board, secured several artists, and is building partnerships with churches, cultural groups, and local organizations.
