About
Develop a website as a central information stop for those interested in red snows in Scotland and the UK, and to report sightings. Publish a public-facing pop-science style article detailing findings from the last two years of research in Scotland.
Impact
By sharing the wonder and beauty of a relatively unknown and threatened mountain ecosystem. Engaging readers to be more aware and connect more deeply with mountain environments, especially when out themselves. Providing a baseline for future work
Progress
Previously funded by https://hief.scot/grants/scotlands-red-snows/ . Generating crucial data, and supporting our initial outreach efforts, including our article: https://www.ukclimbing.com/articles/in_focus/red_snow_at_height-15837
Team
4 years of research in this field. A passion for microalgae, mountain environments, and sharing that sense of wonder. A previous track record of outreach, articles and publications, both public facing and academic.

| Season 7 | Microalgal Fund for Regenerative Futures | curated | 2026-07-09 |
Season totals as displayed on the platform's public accounting — not a statement of amounts paid out. V2 = Venus sales + Venus extras. The original page also broke each season down by fund drive and showed an Available (unclaimed) balance; that level of detail survives only on the preserved snapshots.
