Supporting cooperatives, collectives, and commons-builders creating an economy where everyone rises together.
Bread Coop has spent years proving that solidarity economics actually work: a cooperative community whose BREAD token turns a shared treasury into steady funding for post-capitalist projects, with over $500K circulating and grants flowing monthly to builders like Citizen Wallet, Traditional Dream Factory, and Regen Coordination. Now they're bringing their Solidarity Fund to Artizen to reach beyond their own network and back the wider movement: worker cooperatives, mutual aid networks, artist and developer collectives, union organizing tools, and community spaces building democratic alternatives to venture-backed everything. The fund is led by Unai and the Bread Coop team, whose conviction is simple: the commons don't fund themselves, so we built a machine that does.
We welcome cooperatives, labor unions, community organizations, artist and developer collectives, physical community spaces, decentralized research institutes, and builders of tools for collective organizing, anywhere in the world. Crypto-native projects are welcome but absolutely not required; solidarity is the requirement, not the tech stack.
To qualify for this fund:
- Your project must be organized as a cooperative, non-profit, or democratic collective with at least 3 members
- No venture capital funding
- You must have an existing or planned revenue or sustainability model: we fund projects built to last, not to flip
- Your work must align with post-capitalist, solidarity economy, or commons-based values
Please only submit 1 project per team/organisation/person
