Funding connection: we cover travel costs for bringing communities together

Welcome to the Travelfund for Gathering! This one is for the travelers: researchers, weavers, artists, philosophers, and organizers. Some of the most important creative work happens when communities meet; and yet little funding exists for the act of gathering itself. Spaces cost money. Travel costs money. The slow work of turning a meeting of minds into a shared tool, a publication, or a new collaboration needs resources. This fund covers those operational costs so that gatherings can happen on purpose, repeatedly, and with direction. This fund supports open-ended projects built around multiple meetings and a defined mission, not single one-off events: collective of cultural workers building open tools to connect their networks, artist plotting an uprising, or philosophers convening to theorize together and publish what emerges. Every supported project must commit to an impact outcome.

Eligibility

If you feel aligned with the fund description on the main page get in touch! We are looking for projects and people who are deeply rooted in several networks at once and who know that bringing those networks into the same room can change what each of them is capable of.
To qualify for this fund, your project must meet the eligibility requirements below:
- Ongoing, not one-off: Projects must be open-ended, with a concept that includes multiple gatherings. Funds cover operational costs for a series of meetings, never a single standalone event.
- A defined outcome: Every project must articulate a concrete output from its gatherings, such as a tool, publication, research finding, or new collaboration.
- Impact Strategy: What Impact will your project do? Who will you make sure it will hit? How will you measure it? If you applications doesn't include answers to these questions it wont fly.
- Confirmed logistics: You must supply written confirmation from a hosting space, a list of participants, and approximate dates for the planned gatherings.
- Weavers to the front: Applicants must show that there provide genuine connection across the multiple communities they intend to bring together.
