We’re Loud Fund for DIY Festivals

Supporting DIY music festivals organized in unlikely places around the world

Inspired by the nomadic spirit of We’re Loud Fest, this Fund backs underground music festivals and events that celebrate human-made sound in unlikely places. We support DIY organizers who bring people together at raw and real events that are much more than just a concert.

Eligibility

This Fund supports festivals, events, and gatherings featuring live music performed by humans using instruments to play songs together, organized fully outside corporate influence. Projects must nurture grassroots DIY communities and uphold authenticity, cultural exchange, and human-powered performance.
To qualify for this fund, projects must meet the following eligibility requirements:
- Must be a festival, event, or gathering centered on live music performed by humans with instruments (no computerized or automated music as the core programming).
- Must demonstrate no corporate control over funding, operations, or artistic decisions.
- Must embody the DIY ethos, prioritizing community spirit, local culture, and creative independence.
- Must uplift human musicians, live bands, and DJs who do the same, emphasizing raw, analog performance.
- Should highlight or benefit an unlikely or underrepresented place or community, reflecting We’re Loud’s nomadic roots.
- Must show clear cultural and community impact, aligned with Artizen’s standards for originality, impact, and feasibility.
- Must include an Artifact capturing the spark of the festival and meet all standard Artizen submission guidelines.
Projects that feature the following are more likely to be funded:
- lineups of mostly multi-person bands, representing the diversity of the region's musical & artistic underground
- activities that engage & involve young aspiring musicians by helping put instruments in their hands, providing them with music lessons, and giving them stages to perform on!
- DJs playing music on physical formats (vinyl / cassettes / CDs)
- organic & creative graphic design (illustrations / cut'n'paste - definitely nothing like this!)
- event organization that prioritizes green practices for a clean environment
